Float Collar

 

Float collars are installed within the casing string, typically one or two joints above the float shoe, and provide dependable backflow control during primary cementing operations. By incorporating a check valve mechanism, the float collar helps maintain hydrostatic pressure and supports controlled cement placement.

 

Designed for use across a wide range of well conditions, float collars contribute to improved cementing efficiency and overall well integrity by reducing the risk of cement fallback. Their position within the casing string allows them to support the weight of the cement column while working in conjunction with the float shoe to form an effective barrier during cementing.
